RR BMW MACHINED OIL TEMP GAUGE, WHITE DIAL, FLUID FILLED, Made in Germany, "R 20"
Simply remove your oil level dip stick and screw in the new gauge. Dial alignment is adjustable, and the Oring is serviceable if you ever need to replace it. Simple, reliable, robust and best of all stylish!
The RR oil temperature gauge (version R20 on this page) is specifically designed for BMW motorcycles with a large oil pan (285mm long is for large pan) & features a longer profile than the R18 model which is for the normal oil pan models. For normal oil pan, see the R-18 version.

EXTRA INFO:
1. While the temperature probe itself does not include integrated oil level marking indicators, you can easily use your factory dipstick as a reference. Should you wish, you can carefully add your own marks to the probe for convenience (paint or dots etc.).
2. Made in Germany to the highest standards.
ATTENTION:
1. When attached to the bike the dial direction may tilt or face in the wrong direction (depending on the bike).
2. To adjust, read supplied instructions and care instruction sheet
3. Warm up the bike (so gauge is warm)
4. Once at operating temperature gently rotate the dial/face part to the desired position within the alloy housing
5. Re fit to the bike and screw in as normal, check dial is aligned correctly (or in direction you desire)

-> When handling the temp gauge (whilst hot) take care! Hot oil can cause burns.
-> Always wear gloves to protect your hands, also use suitable protection for your bikes fuel tank to avoid oil drips on your paint work.
-> Take great care to NOT drop the temp gauge, it has a sensitive temp probe. If it lands on the probe, it can cause damage, and the gauge may malfunction or be damaged.
NOTE:
Two versions are available. The RR 20 is the 285 mm length and RR 18 is the 275 mm. This sale page is for the 285mm version - (measured without including the thread). The original, made in Germany since 1976. Motorsport Ries has a long history. Some highlights in the history of RR-Motorsport-Ries include: 1976 Development of the RR Oil Temperature Direct Indicator® for motorcycles by founder and entrepreneur Rudolf Ries, 1978, Founding of RR-Motorsport-Boutique, which initially included a bike and a moped shop. The company moved into its first 75 sq m premises at in Öflingen. In 1979, Acquisition of the Kawasaki dealership for Southern Germany. In 1984, they Relocated to new, larger 280 sq m facilities in Öflingen. 2001, After 25 years, the motorcycle repair shop (RR-Motorsport-Boutique) was sold. Later that year, the company was re-established as RR-Motorsport-Ries and relocated to new premises. In 2004, Development of the proprietary RR Oil Temperature Direct Indicator® for Ferrari was made. In 2023, The company was transferred to Reuter Energy. This year also saw the development of the new Blackline product series and a complete website redesign, including the launch of our new online store. RR Motorsport Ries has a proud history and look forward to future developments.
