DAYTONA SR400/SR500 {4/85~00}, "+200mm LONG DRUM BRAKE CABLE", 22358.
The DAYTONA "+200mm Long Drum Brake Cable" suits the SR400 built between (4/85~00) & the SR500 built between (4/85~99) with custom (non-genuine) bars or use on 4/85 to 00 when swapping to early model type (wide / high bars). Recommended for use with Dirt Tracker bars, Scrambler bars and other bars such as the Super Tracker bars that we sell. Or fit with your own custom bars to obtain the extra length required.
Made in Japan, fitted with the correct end fittings to suit the SR400/500 lever and Drum brake.
DETAILS:
-> Suits: SR400 (4/85~00) & SR500 (4/85~99), SR400/500 front drum brake and SR brake lever.
-> Cable outer is black outer, with a Teflon inner liner.
-> Cable inner wire is stainless.
-> Made in Japan.
LENGTH DETAILS:
-> The factory (standard OEM) drum brake cable is approx. 1080mm when measuring the outer cable housing.
-> This cable is approx. +200mm longer than the standard OEM cable when compared to the 4/85 to 2000 models.
Good to know: Yamaha introduced the drum brake on the SR400/500 in April of 1985, and it was used through until 1999 on the SR500 and the year 2000 on the SR400.
NOTE:
1. Cables should be lubed at time of fitment.
2. Fitting should be carried out by a qualified experienced mechanic's as per the factory workshop manual. 3. Cables should always be tested before use on road to ensure the return function is uninhibited and cables have correctly adjusted free play adjustment.
4. Changing any component on your brake system requires a high level of experience.
5. This cable should only be fitted and adjusted by a licensed qualified mechanic.
