DAYTONA SR400/SR500 ('83~19) LONG CLUTCH CABLE, +150mm, (22357).
The DAYTONA +150mm LONG CLUTCH cable is ideal for owners who are fitting custom bars with wider or higher specifications than the factory bars. The extra 150mm (15cm) allows fitment of a range of handlebars including custom (non-genuine) bars, Tracker bars, Scrambler bars or similar. Cable suits the SR400 (83~21) SR500 (83~99). Use on 78-82 is also possible, however see notes below regarding length on 78-82 models.

LENGTH:
+ This cable is approx. "1130mm long" (end to end of the black casing / fitting).
+ OEM std length for reference is typically 980mm on the (SR400 88-21 & 88-99 SR500) or approx. 1060mm (on 78-82)
+ Cables are measured on the black outer end to end (not inner wire!).
For context: The Length of this cable is referred to as +150mm (short) compared to 83-21 model (SR400/500) based on bars fitted to those year models from factory. Some early model bikes (78-82) had "wide bars" from factory. In that case the cable may not be + 150mm. (On early models it's approx. +70mm compared to the early wide bar OEM cable). Regardless of length differences for various year models, consider that this cable can be used on a range of custom bars based on length (where 1130mm long is required).
If unsure of suitability, measure what you need based on the above provided length!
Can also be used on the XT500, length may need to be checked for XT compatibility depending on your bars, lever and set up.
NOTE:
1. Always ensure your clutch is adjusted correctly, and the clutch and related parts are in good working order.
2. Cable should be lubed when fitting and ends should be greased.
3. Ends are made for the factory clutch lever, if you have made changes to the clutch lever ensure it is suitable for use with SR clutch cables.
4. If unfamiliar with the replacement process check your workshop manual, if in doubt have a professional licensed mechanic fit the cable for you.
5. OEM cable length differs slight depending on year model, above details are a guide (*83-87 are slightly different but very similar to details above).
6. Cable should always be tested before use on road to ensure the pull & return function is uninhibited, and cables have the correct free play adjustment.
