Product Overview
DAYTONA SR400 / SR500 >'83~21< LONG DE-COMP CABLE, +120mm, 22356.
The DAYTONA +120mm LONG DE-COMP cable suits the SR400 carb and FI bikes built between (83~21) & the SR500 (83~99) with custom (non-genuine) bars, Tracker bars, Scrambler bars.
For 83-21 had a 670mm length cable, this cable is considered +120mm longer than the standard 83-21 model factory cable at approx. 790mm (end to end of the casing - not wire). However, the long length De-Comp cable is also often used with standard / factory bars on the early 78~82 factory ("wide bar") as an OEM replacement. In other words, for the 78-82 models (AU/US), the handlebars were wider and higher from factory than JDM models built between 83 and 2021, so for the early 78 to 82 this cable is similar to stock (as the early bars had wider and higher specs!).

The Length of this cable is referred to as +120mm for 83~21 models. Some early model bikes (78~82) had "wide bars". In that case the cable may be shorter than (+120mm) when compared to the early model wide bars. If unsure of suitability, consider that the cable is for use with the DAYTONA Dirt Tracker bars, DAYTONA Scrambler bars (low and high) and other bars we sell such as the CB750K0 bars (and also for similar custom bars by other makers).
NOTE: Always ensure your new cable is adjusted correctly, and the de-comp and related parts are in good working order. Cable should be lubed when fitting and ends should be greased. Ends are made for the factory de-comp lever. If you have made changes to the lever, ensure it is suitable for use with SR cables. If unfamiliar with the replacement process check your workshop manual, if in doubt have a professional, licensed mechanic fit the cable for you. Cables should always be tested before use on road to ensure the return function is uninhibited, and cables have corrected free play adjustment.
