Product Overview
POSH SR400/500 DE-COMP CABLE, STANDARD LENGTH, #010112-D1 - (010112-DC).
The POSH Standard length De-comp cable can be used on all SR models (78~18). However, the standard-length De-comp cable here is used as a direct replacement of the 88-17 length cable with standard / factory bars and with custom (non-genuine) bars that are of a similar dimension to the 88-17 bars.
DETAILS:
-> Suits: SR400/SR500 (88-17) & SR400FI (10~18), can be used on 78-87 also, but see length notes.
-> Length: Genuine length (same as factory standard of 88-17 models) - *see notes below in regard to length
-> Material: Black PVC outer, Stainless wire, Steel fittings
-> Other: Made in Japan
*Cable here is classified as the standard length; this refers to the length used on the SR400/500 built between (88~17) with genuine type bars.
Earlier 78~ models in some regions had "wide bars". For early models bikes with "wide factory bars" the +100mm length allows for a good fit. However, if your bike is an early model and you have swapped the bars to later model bars or similar low custom bars (smaller than the larger early 78~ wide bar) then this cable is still able to be used.
XT500 use is possible but again consider this is the STD length for std 88-17 SR400/500 bars, it will be shorter than the XT std cable due to the different bars and forks, but if you have low bars on your XT, it may be a solution for your build.
NOTE:
1. Always ensure your de comp cable is adjusted correctly and the de-comp and related parts are in good working order.
2. Cable should be lubed when fitting and ends should be greased.
3. Ends are made for the factory lever, if you have made changes to the de-comp lever ensure it is suitable for use with SR cables.
4. If unfamiliar with the replacement process check your workshop manual, if in doubt have a professional, licensed mechanic fit the cable for you.
