POSH SR400/500 (78 ~87) THROTTLE CABLES STANDARD LENGTH - 010132-A1 / (010132-AC).
The POSH STANDARD length throttle cables are suitable for replacement of the factory cables or use on your custom build that requires standard length cables. The set is sold as a PUSH / PULL SET (PAIR). POSH cables are made in Japan to a high standard, the inner wires are stainless, outer casing is black.
SUITS:
-> (83~8 /88) models using the VM32SS & VM34SS type carb (factory type VM)
-> (78~8 /88) models using the VM32SS & VM34SS type carb (factory type VM) - *see notes below about length.
-> SR's using the FCR flat slide carb.
-> SR's using the CR large body carb - (such as the CR38)
-> SR's using the Mikuni TMR36
*Cables here are classified as the standard length. This refers to the length used on the SR built between 83~8/88 as they have a lower bar than the early model type bar. Cable outer black casing is approx. 930-940mm
Earlier 78~82 models in some regions had "wide bars". For early models bikes with "wide bars" the +100mm length allows for a good fit. However, if your bike is an early model and you have swapped the bars to later model bars or similar custom bars (smaller than the larger early wide bar), such as the RCM bar we sell, then these cables are still able to be used with your throttle and carb & fit is far better than long early model cables.
NOTE:
* Cables should be lubed at time of fitment. Fitting should be carried out by a qualified experienced mechanic's as per the factory workshop manual.
* Cables should always be tested before use on road to ensure the return function is uninhibited, and cables have correctly adjusted free play.
