DAYTONA SR400/SR500 (78 ~94/5) POLISHED TOP BRIDGE - 48218.

The DAYTONA polished alloy top bridge has a classic racer style that emphasizes a slim / minimal design. Finish is polished alloy. Fit as is and enjoy the polished alloy finish or the T/B can be painted or coated as you like (an example image is seen here above of a T/B painted black). A long time seller in our store and in Japan due to the popular styling, high quality finish and durability which sets this product apart from similar top bridges. Made in Japan to ensure quality.

Features:

Unlike many other top bridges on the market (and re using the factory top bridge) the ignition switch mount is offset on this product so you can lock the handle bars even when using the handle stopper (26157). It is an essential item for enjoying the SR with clip on bar specifications.

Compatibility:

48218 comes with a dedicated top bolt for earlier models that use a bolt. Refer to the following for compatibility of 48218 models

*48218 Compatible model = early 78 ~ 94 / 5 > bikes with the first generation front forks and ('88 -'94 / 5) with front fork air valve cap (1JR-268101-301000 SR400), & 1JN-222101-229000 (SR500)

NOTE: always ensure your bikes suitability (eg: nut or bolt). Imports have been known to have the clamps and steering stem changed during customization.

About offset ignition switch / use with bar limiters: 

It is a requirement in most countries that the handlebar lock functions, failing to do so may void registration etc. within your area. The top bridge will commonly be installed with clip on bars and a bar limiter. The handlebar limiter is used to prevent switches interfering with the tank. It is possible to use handlebar lock due to the offset switch mount when using this product. Use of the original meters will need some reworking as meters and ignition will touch. OEM headlight is possible (mounts are provided on the T/B as per OEM) and factory gauge vibe rubbers can be swapped from your factory top bridge.

Fitting of the top bridge should be done with the use of clip on bars, in which case the OEM headlight bracket can bot be used – please fit separate headlight brackets (as per all clip on conversions). We sell a range of headlight stays that are suitable. The factory indicators will in most case need to be relocated, see our selection of indicator stays in store.

NOTE: If the surface is left as it is, it will oxidize especially when parked near the ocean or left out doors in the weather for prolonged periods. The shine can be replenished with aluminum polish. We recommend the top bridge is polished with a soft aluminum polish regularly.
