W650 THROTTLE CABLE SET, HIGH/UP BAR SPEC, {"99-08"} MODEL, 12010-203-AC
The W650 "high bar spec" throttle cables are for the Kawasaki W650 models (99-2008) model. Outside of Japan the W650 was only offered with high bars from (99-01), however in Japan there was an option for a high bar spec W650 throughout the entire build series up until 2008 and also at the same time a low bar spec W650. For owners of the "Low bar models", it is common to change the bars to High bars or to use higher and wider custom bars to improve aesthetic and comfort.
When changing handlebars to higher or wider custom bars (from low bar spec) - such as the POSH W1 bars, POSH Dirt Tracker bars, Daytona Scrambler bars (or similar spec bars), or simply needing new OEM throttle cable replacement for your stock early model W650 during routine maintenance, these throttle cables are an essential item.
When you combine these cables with our separately available high bar spec "clutch cables" and correct high bar spec "brake line" (1000mm D) you will finish your bikes low bar or custom bar conversion like a pro!
LENGTH:
Approx. overall outer case + fitting length is: 1150mm for cable A

* Measured end to end length including metal fittings, (but does not include or quote inner wire length!). This measurement is done with cables laid flat, if you also add for the arch of the bends, it adds a cm or so.

NOTE:
1. For installation, you will need to remove the throttle body assy. Cables should be lubed and adjusted correctly at time of fitment while apart.
2. Fitting should be carried out by a qualified mechanic as per the factory workshop manual.
3. Cables should always be tested before use on road to ensure the return function is uninhibited and cables have correctly adjusted free play.
4. You may receive either 99~03 cables or 04~08 type cables depending on stock.
ATTENTION: These cables do not suit the W800, for W800 throttle cables (injected) please see the POSH W800 throttle cables sold separately.
FAQ:
Q: What's the difference between (99~03) "high bars spec" throttle cables and the (04~08) "high bars spec" cables?
A: There is not a lot of difference at all. The 04~08 type cables have a slightly extended outer PVC covering and cable outers are updated to a slightly lighter weight than the older 99~03 cables. End fittings and pull lengths are the same and within +/- 5% length so adjustment and fit is not affected at all, basically they are the same cables, later model is just a bit lighter on the outer casing - but has extended outer double PVC skin.
