CF POSH SR400/500 (1985 - 1992) - Replacement Main Harness, 838400
The CF POSH replacement main wiring harness allows you to easily overhaul and restore the electric's main harness on your 1985 to 1992 SR400 and 1985 to 1992 SR500 models (Japanese sold bikes), AKA a grey import in Australia and elsewhere. For several years the OEM harness has been discontinued, making the options for restoration extremely expensive with one off harness fabrications by builders, or trying to repair your old broken-down harness which can lead to ongoing issues. Now you can replace the main harness with this high-quality Japanese made replacement, and restoration is easily achieved.
Compatible models:
- Yamaha SR400 85~92 SR400 = (85 1JR0 to 92 3HT4)
- Yamaha SR500 85~92 SR500 = (85 1JN0 to 92 3GW3/5)
Compatible replacement:
- Replaces genuine part number: 1JN-82590-00
Notes:
- Due to the age of the year models listed here above, some couplers were no longer available. Therefore, a non-locking coupler was used on one connection. This does not affect the operation in anyway, but we recommend taping or using heat shrink to make it locked. *However, a replacement coupler is supplied for the bike side, so if you renew the bike side with supplied extra coupler, it will then be lockable as normal.
- The battery harness with coupler (that fits the small OEM battery with fuse) is not included, we have it available separately. You can select between the plug and play options (battery coupler with wiring and fuse), or just buy the battery coupler with fuse and terminals for a DIY option.

You can also add the CF POSH RACING CDI if needed (sold separately - see #838361). We also stock a range of coils, switches, new relays and add on items such as electrical terminals - if needed to complete you build back to new or to a high standard custom.
Attention:
*Please note, fitting of electrical related items should be done with great care. Make sure you insulate and exposed wires on related plug-in parts, make sure the harness is secured in the factory location and won't be damaged by chaffing or moving parts. If in doubt, always seek professional help!
*Also, always check your bikes year model correctly to ensure this part will be compatible. Yamaha wiring harnesses have a yellow tag with the above listed parts number on them. Always check the part number where possible to do so (1JN-82590-00). Imports can at times have the incorrect year of manufacture on the paperwork, if in doubt double check your bikes details. Typically for this harness you may find it has a #3H1-85540-50 type CDI unit (among others).
