The POSH W650/W800 "Cafe Style" (short) semi-double seat is a high quality, dedicated W650/800 seat manufactured by POSH Japan. Compatible with the standard W400, W650, and W800 frames in factory trim, this version features a black finish with white piping.

Unlike many cafe racer style single-seat designs, the POSH W-series seat is a semi-double (short double), allowing for two-up riding while maintaining a sleek profile. This model features an improved seat base developed by POSH, offering enhanced comfort and aesthetics compared to the factory original.

Whether you are aiming for a classic Cafe Racer vibe or a unique custom build, this seat is a highly popular choice. It pairs perfectly with our short rear stainless fender kit and on bikes with a lower stance, though it remains compatible with the stock fender and various other custom fender configurations.

Good to know: In the past this seat was once part of the "Official" Kyoto range (a famous SR/W650 store), however when "Official" closed after 25 years in business, POSH took over the range and has made updates and improvements! Whether you're evolving your bike's existing style, adding comfort or completing a specific build design, this seat adapts well to many bike styles and owner's needs.

CONSTRUCTION:

The base is meticulously crafted from thick fiberglass (In Japan), providing robust support and longevity. The base has been recently updated to improve on the older version with integrated lugs and rubber bump stops added to the base. The factory lock can be attached ensuring seat is locked down securely. The seats outer trim is Naugahyde (Automotive vinyl for motorcycle use), and it covers the top side moulded urethane foam. The base is finished in black gel coat and looks neat and tidy as sold.

DESIGN AND COMFORT:

While ergonomics and comfort are very specific to each individual due to rider height, weight, flexibility and other factors, many owners of the W650 & W800 know that the seat frame rail angle slopes upward from the horizontal position, making the standard seated position for rider and passenger (especially the passenger) have a rear-upward slope that is known to create an uncomfortable feeling of sliding forward for many owners. Therefore, POSH has tried to adjust that situation "slightly" by using an offset of the seat's mounting bracket and seat shape, while maintaining a natural shape and style of the seat.

The top side features urethan foam, which offers a firm yet comfortable ride absorbing vibrations and providing excellent support aided by under seat dampers which many custom seats don't have. Additionally, it lowers the seat slightly compared to the factory seat, giving your bike a sleeker profile and a slightly lower stand over height on some year models. (NOTE: there were several W series seats with various thicknesses, stand over height will vary compared to STD depending on your year model).

INSTALLATION EXTRA INFO:
+ The tandem (pillion) belt is NOT included. As the seat is suitable for two up, we suggest adding a rear grab rail or separate pillion strap if wanting a passenger.
‎+ Although the seat is waterproofed and has welded trim, there are minor cases where water may seep into the seat seams due to stitching treatment and design. This is normal with most seats including factory seats. Just let it dry in the sun or if parking in rain / wet conditions use a seat cover when parked or washing the bike (as normal).

‎+ The seat locking mechanism and latch needs to be installed correctly. Failing to install correctly makes it very difficult to remove the seat, we suggest asking a professional if you are not confident in the installation.

FAQ:
Q: I don't have a factory seat latch pin, is it required to fit this seat?
A: Yes, this seat will require you to transfer your seat latch pin with bracket so the locking mech can be used and to fit and secure the seat.

ATTENTION:
1. Please note that no pillion strap is fitted to maintain its minimalist aesthetic; however, a rear W650/800 grab rail can be easily added for comfortable two-up riding & we do have straps available (see in store).

2. This seat is usually a special order, or made to order.

As this seat very popular, we may have stock locally. If so, it will be indicated as (usually ships within 24hrs).
If POSH has stock in their Japan warehouse (which is often), allow 7-14 days delivery.
For outside of Aust, it will depend on available stock location. *In most cases, it will be available straight away or a special order. POSH tries to keep this seat in stock at all times. After receiving your order confirmation, you should allow 21-45 days delivery as a guide, but it could be sooner! Note: Although POSH try to keep this seat in stock all the time but stock can change daily!

*Once this seat is ordered, you cannot cancel the order or return.

3. For customers outside of Australia, or far North Queensland, Perth etc. we may opt to send the seat directly from POSH Japan with EMS depending on stock availability and your location.

Seat covers can wear due to weather extreme conditions, excess sunlight or rain. Please maintain your seat and clean with a soft cloth and soapy water only! Never use harsh cleaners to clean the surface. And keep bike covered or parked in the shade when possible (just as you should with the factory seat!).
