Product Overview

DAYTONA FLASHER RELAY, HONDA - 10 PIN - LED IC RELAY, 0.1-100W /DC12V, 81442

The DAYTONA 10P flasher relay specifically designed for HONDA motorcycles, which include hazard, position lamps, and emergency stop signal functionalities. Mainly used to fit aftermarket LED indicators (with position lamps) to your bike or use as a replacement unit. By replacing your genuine relay with this turn signal relay, you can use a range of LED indicators available on the market that incorporate white position lamps.

The emergency stop signal (ESS) is a function to alert the following vehicle to the danger by rapidly flashing the hazard lights when the rider brakes suddenly while at high speed (50 km/h or more). The hazard / indicators flashes at approx. 85 counts/minute, while ESS flashes at about 220 counts/minute.

FEATURES:
-> Enables use of aftermarket LED indicators on your bike (that supports the position lamp feature).
-> Can be installed in the original relay position in most cases (genuine rubber can be used on most).
-> Rubber bracket hanger included which can also be used for repair.
-> ESS / Genuine position / Hazard function can be operated.
-> CE certification acquired.

*This list is not exhaustive. There may be newer models not yet listed. Always do your checks prior to purchase as models sold in different regions can differ from country to country.

CAUTIONS:
1. Designed for DC12V power source, will NOT work with DC6V.
2. A weak or flat battery will NOT provide enough current to work properly.
3. Attach the relay wiring in a way that no part obstructs or restricts the steering.
4. Read this assembly and installation manual before installing.
5. Proper installation and electric connection require technical expertise, special tools, motorcycle
service manual and skilled craftsmanship.
6. If you are unsure about the installation, have it done, for your own safety, by a trained mechanic.
7. Since it is an IC relay, there is no operating / clicking sound when in use.
8. We recommend disconnecting the battery when carrying out electrical work to avoid short circuits or introducing faults.
9. If a turn signal bulb breaks, the LED indicators will not have a higher flash rate when a lamp is out, which would normally warn you to a broken bulb (like old bulb indicator lamps do), so please check the blinking of each turn signal every time you ride.

ATTENTION:
10. Road standards do not permit driving without position lamps, if the bike is originally equipped with position lamps (AKA - Day Time Running Lights) as an original feature or standard. Disconnecting the position lights of your motorcycle may lead to accidents or be illegal in your country, state or region.

11. *If returning the aftermarket indicator back to the OEM front indicator, connect the two black wires â‘  as shown in (A) or image above. Also, if using LED indicators with the same functionality as OEM two wire Honda lamps, connect the black wires.

12. For three wire aftermarket lamps, (with position lamp function) you must use the blue and orange wires for the position lamps.

13. The wiring diagram above in the images (and in the instructions) shows both the OEM lamps and aftermarket lamps on the one diagram. No. 3 & 4 are the OEM (2 wire) lamps. No. 5 is the aftermarket LED (3 wire) lamp example. No. 8 is an extension wire (not included) - it is shown just as an example of making the lamp connection between relay and front lamps.

14. When the bike is started, the cell motor (starter motor) can draw on the bikes electrical system and quickly cause a low voltage situation. The Daytona relay will flash the ESS system (triggering 220 flashes per minute) when the system voltage is low, this is not a fault, it is a function of the relay and typically happens on start-ups (or if you have a weak battery).
