Product Overview

VELONA60, SPEEDOMETER, 200km/h/Mph, + 15000 RPM TACHOMETER, LED LIT, (C.E.) & E MARKED + DASH LIGHTS, BLACK "SET" - 88642-88645-S

The VELONA60 200km/h (or mph) Speedometer and matching VELONA60 15,000rpm Tachometer "SET" is a combination of two of the most sort after gauges available! Both gauges have a stainless housing finished in satin black and a unique spherical lens to give the VELONA60 series a standalone design. The gauges have digital functions with an analogue style dial which compliments modern and classic bike builds.

Both gauges feature a clean, minimal layout while offering essential functions for your ride. With modern LED backlighting for improved visibility at night, these units will instantly transform your dash compared to dull, OEM bulb-lit gauges. These features make this gauge set one of the most popular speedometer and tachometer combinations available for garage builders and professional custom bike builders alike.

+ And just to ensure owners in all regions can use this gauge safely, the speed setting is selectable between km/h and mph.

In summary, the 60mm VELONA gauges are a versatile gauge combination that complements just about any bike build style, including vintage, custom, scramblers and café-style motorcycles, and of course they can be used as an OEM replacement when needed. The low body height offers a sleek stealth look while providing essential information for the rider.

A set of instructions is included (in English) and we carry all of the complementing optional parts if needed. And of course, we are here to help with your purchase and install questions if needed. Keep in mind, when you purchase from VANEM, our gauges have full aftersales support and back to factory support directly by Daytona Japan.

NOTES & CAUTIONS - SPEEDOMETER:
1. -> *If the bike has a standard electronic signal for speed, this speedometer can be connected to this original electronic signal in most cases (but not all). eg: W650, & many Harley models can be directly wired in etc. etc. However, please see notes below regarding Can Bus equipped bike models.

2. -> *If the bike is not equipped with a standard electronic signal for speed, please purchase and use the active Daytona sensor (#87038) or one of the model specific DAYTONA pulse sensors. We stock sensors for popular models such as the SR400/500, Modern Triumphs, Classic BMW's and more! (find sensor within the gauge accessories page here).

3. -> *Keep in mind this gauge is not suitable for 6-volt use (& many 6volt to 12v conversions). It is also *NOT suitable for use with battery lesser or bikes with highly stripped back modified race type ignition systems.

4. -> *If your particular bike suffers from "excessive" electrical noise in the system, and your gauge has an unstable needle (or is an older model), Tacho "Optional resistor wire 98641" can be used to stabilise the tachometer, and for the Speedo side the use of the DAYTONA Speedometer "Optional Harness" 98642 can in certain circumstances also aid in stabilisation of the dial and function. The optional add on parts are generally not required, but some bikes with certain ignitions systems may require them (typically older bikes such as CB750 / CX500 etc.).

EXTRA INFO - TACHOMETER:
1. -> A pulse signal can be picked up from the ignition coil (preferred 4 stroke method) or by wrapping the HT lead. In some cases, the tacho line from the ECU Tacho wire is able to be utilised (where applicable), such as modern Honda range. If the bike has CDI-or TCI ignition, generally the tachometer can be mounted regardless of the engine type or displacement after setting the PPR (pulse per revolution setting).

2. -> On certain models the aid of a 92333-pulse rectifier may be required when a pulse signal cannot be obtained. This part is only needed in rare cases or if your bike is quite old and never had a tachometer etc.

3. -> This gauge can be wired to many bike models; and is tried and tested for quite a few years, however, some makes and models are not compatible or needed a resister to smooth out the electrical noise their bikes produce. Or require special installation is required as they may have excessive electrical noise due to stripped back ignitions systems, certain coils or caps etc. In such cases see the tachometer 98641 optional harness, or 92333 pulse rectifier in our gauge accessories pages. See info at links provided.

4. -> Not suitable for 6v models, or bikes converted from 6v to 12v. It is also *not suitable for use with battery-lesser or bikes with highly stripped back modified race type ignition systems.

FAQ:

Q: Can I use this gauge SET be used on 6-volt bikes?
A: No, this product is for 12v use only.

Q: Can I mount these gauges directly to the engine or bracket attached to the engine?
A: It is not recommended, as excessive vibrations and heat can damage the gauges internals. Warranty will be void for mounting gauges in this manner.

Q: Are instructions included?
A: Yes, official Daytona English instructions are included, and you can see the guides in our main image selection.

Q: Can I fit this to a 2009~ onwards Triumph with Can Bus or a HD model with Can Bus systems.
A: In short yes, however, it is widely known that Tri models with C/Bus & some HD models with C/Bus will need the use of a third-party control module to facilitate the Can Bus system. On some models, if you are bypassing when doing extensive custom wiring you may have work arounds available depending on the bike model. But in general, a add on control module will be required.

Please note, we do not offer third party controllers for Can Bus, and we cannot give you step by step details or recommendations for third party products. On such models if unfamiliar with wiring and requirements, please talk to your bike builder.
