The DAYTONA 140km/h mechanical speedometer has a simple yet classic design. In addition to the simple and legible panel design this BULB lit gauge has a replaceable bulb for the back lighting. As supplied it is fitted with the standard 12v bulb, however, for those with compatible 6v bikes, you can change the bulb to a 6v bulb if needed. Now days replacement LED bulbs can also be obtained and fitted to brighten up the back light if you so desire.
The speedometer has a built-in drum type Odometer. As sold it is suitable for use on 12V models & has a simple two wire hook up for the back light (Neg and Pos + wires only). Also, as this model has an odometer only (no trip knob) this gauge is an economical solution, and it is one that can be used in the DAYTONA CEV replica "Vintage" type headlight.

NOTES:
- This meter is not completely waterproof. It is water resistant just like most factory gauges.
- This product is for 12V vehicles only. However bulb can be changed to a 6V bulb if required.
- The speedometer has a gear ratio of "60km / h = 1400rpm" that ratio corresponds to most domestic (Japanese bikes) that are (mechanical models) that corresponds to SR400 /SR500 / XS650, TW200/225, GB400/500, some CB models etc. and also, it works with some Triumph models (for example Bonneville with mechanical drive cable) not to mention many Honda and Kawasaki models.
- However, models with other gear ratios are not compatible. We cannot answer usage about every bike made, please check your speedo drive ratio prior.
- A general-purpose chromed steel V-shaped stay is included for quick fit up but if you would like an anti-vibe type stay, see our anti vibration stays in store. We have stainless offset stays and normal stays, some are with a 10-degree upwards bend. The stainless anti vibe stays are purchased separately.
- Various indicators (dash lights) may be lost by removing the genuine meters. Please prepare dash lights separately if necessary.
- The Speedometer cable is a consumable item. If the outer casing is cracked or damaged, water, oil, dust, etc., may get inside the meter and cause a malfunction. When replacing a mechanical meter, always check the meter cable at the same time and replace it with a new one if necessary.
FAQ:
- Q: Do we sell a matching tachometer for the speedometer?
- A: No, the 63559 speedometer has no matching tachometer. However, we have a range of electrical and mechanical tachometers that may be usable / suitable for use along side this Speedo.
- Q: Do you sell replacement bulbs for the back light?
- A: YES - The wedge type bulb is for 12V (order#26262). When installing on a 6V car, replace it with a 6V wedge ball (#41981).FAQ:

Q: Besides fitting many Japanese models, does this gauge fit my Triumph?
A: If your Triumph was fitted with a mechanical gauge (with a cable) then this speedometer is fine for use with Triumph Bonneville / Scrambler / Thruxton carb and EFI (2000-2011 air-cooled) that were originally fitted with a mechanical speedometer. Usually this is the situation up until 2009 and then EFI models changed to electrical gauges, for electric gauges see our VELONA range. You will need dash lights separately.
