POSH SR400/500 "78-2008", BATTERY HARNESS PANEL, MADE IN JAPAN, 010269-01
The POSH battery harness panel is designed for use with the 94-08 model SR400 & 94-99 SR500 using the small factory battery (YT4-B type). It can also be used on older bikes (78-93) using a battery lesser without issue, or on bikes using a small battery convert *that has the same dimensions to the YT4-B (or smaller).
Since the 2001 SR400, the digital C.D.I ignition system has been introduced and the battery-less kit can no longer be used. Therefore, a battery plate was made for the owners aiming at customizing (AKA: “Ska tuning”) and wanting the normal small battery horizontally mounted under the seat. However, with that said, you can also use this panel successfully with older bikes that are able to fit a battery lesser conversion.
Made from heavy duty stainless steel. Supplied spacers, bolts, nuts, ties etc. for fitment. This panel is a genuine POSH product made in Japan and is superior to copycat products that look similar. Match with a POSH air filter, and jet kit to tune your carb once your intake conversion is completed.

Q: Are English instructions included?
A: Yes, but only when purchased from VANEM
Q: Can this harness panel be used with POSH Imola side covers?
A: No, although the Imola covers are used with pod filter conversions only, they contact this type of panel, so we recommend one with a taper at the front.
Q: Can this panel be used with some side covers?
A: Yes. it has been used with various covers that have enough clearance.
Q: What's the difference between this panel and other similar panels?
A: The POSH panel is made in Japan and is a heavy-duty stainless panel that will be reliable for an extended period. It also has holes drilled to accommodate the mounting of the OEM reg/rec & CDI etc. Some lightweight alloy or fiberglass panels will not last due to the SR400/500's vibrations, and some copycat products that look similar are made of light gauge metal, meaning they too may not last like this panel does! In short, this POSH panel is the original and the best!
NOTE:
1. Designed for use where the bike is converted to an open (“Ska Tune”) look. Ska Tune is a Japanese customizing term used for bikes that have removed the air box and have an open frame look. (But can be used with some side covers that have clearance).
2. Designed for use with the small factory SR400 battery (YT4-B) type or batteries of the same or smaller size (lithium etc.).
3. The early larger 78 - 93 battery does not fit this panel, see above notes for older bikes (eg: early bikes require small battery lesser OR conversion to small battery).
4. Can not be used with the POSH Imola style side covers (#904104).
