Product Overview
POSH CLASSIC REAR SET - SR400/500 (78-'16) - 910070-10.
The POSH rear set is a classic type rear set that is indispensable for café style. Originally sold by Official Japan (Kyoto), now POSH continues with the popular long time seller. POSH have changed the foot pegs and made some refinements compared to the older versions. Kit continues to use the genuine Yamaha brake pedal and genuine gear change lever that was equipped on the SR genuine rear set which make operation smooth and reliable. Another advantage is repair parts are available if you have a fall or simply need to overhaul (Yamaha small parts, and also LH/RH replacements from POSH).
The position of the rear set has been revised and height has increased by about 15mm, pegs are approx. 100mm back compared to the genuine rear set.
A long time selling and extremely popular choice for SR builders in Japan. If a modern CNC alloy look isn't for you, the classic set may be what you need!
INCLUDES:
- LHS rear set bracket / peg assembly - complete
- RHS rear set bracket / peg assembly - complete
- LHS gear selector lever, rod, selector shaft joint
- Classic foot peg rubbers and selector rubber
- Brake pedal
*NOTE:
There are two types of SR foot pegs (depending on the model year). The ("front / forward type pegs") found on early models and current models, and then the type that requires folding the peg up, AKA ("rear set type") found on the mid-term SR series when factory rear sets were available.
There are differences with the related brake parts such as the brake rod, rear brake lever at the rear wheel etc. etc. when comparing normal foot peg SR's and SR's with rear sets. Therefore there are some important genuine parts that need to be replaced when your bike is originally equipped with "normal foot pegs". This situation is not just for this rear set, but is a general rule for all bikes converting to rear sets from normal pegs. If the related parts are not replaced, the brake pedal can feel very stiff and you will not be able to obtain sufficient braking force, which may lead to an accident. Other issues include stress on the brake rod.
Please refer to the details below.
- *If your bike was originally equipped with rear sets from factory, then no additional items will be required
- *If your bike was equipped with factory forward type pegs it is recommended to change the following when fitting rear sets (as a general rule for all rear set conversions)
